New York City is so filled with iconic images and shots no matter where you wander around. Sometimes you just have to take a crack at a scene that has been photographed millions of times. This scene looking across the pond. Even though millions of visitors walk by the water’s edge each year, you can still find a sense of solitude.

Farewell West Village

For the past few years this has been my home on Horatio Street in the West Village. Today the movers arrive to haul my worldly goods away to my tidy little co-op in Hells Kitchen. While the move is for all the right reasons, I will none the less miss coming home to the West Village everyday. I will now join the ranks of those that visit the neighborhood. At least I won't need a map to navigate the gloriously wacky street grid.

It's been a while since I featured a security gate shot... This one at a dry cleaner on Seventh Avenue in Chelsea.
Good news to share... I am scheduled to close on my new home next week. Those close to me know that I have long wanted to find a place (albeit tiny) to set up a long term nest in Manhattan. I will be leaving my very deeply loved West Village for Hells Kitchen at the end of next month.
